Our first fam camp at Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping!
It's my first camping experience, dunno what to expect but we prayed for good weather. We didn't worry much about if Kyle able to sleep or not because when he's tired he can fall asleep easily. Hounon Ridge located at Bundu Tuhan, 2 hours drive from KK or 45 minutes drive from Kundasang. To get to there you have to turn at the junction to Bundu Tuhan on the way to Kundasang. I suggest you to use WAZE to find your way because no sufficient sign board to lead us there.
We arrived at Hounon Ridge at 1:00p.m. Check in then walk around that place then get ready to set up our camps. It's a very beautiful place with majestic Mount Kinabalu right infront.
It was very very windy and our tent is big so it's quiet difficult to handle if only by 2 person. Thanks to our friends who offered help and complete the tent after 30 minutes. Their tents are smaller so very fast and easier to installed.
Kyle make friend with this cute husky while we busy unpack. He said "Mao Mao" "Mo-Mo" Furry he want to touch. haha
3:30p.m. : After settled down and unpack our stuff we chill until 4:30p.m. Then go shower because the female sharing toilet's water heater is not hot and for males toilet the water heater is not working. If shower late will be very cold. 5:00p.m : Ready for dinner. We do steamboat, easy and soupy meal. Each families just bring few items to cook is good enough and we were so full!
7:30p.m : Clean up and chill 8:30p.m. : Daddys enjoy the breeze with beers and snacks and mommies trying to make the kids sleep but they just too excited and want to explore inside our tent. We had to separate them and off the lights to make them sleep. 9:00p.m. : Finally they fall asleep. I went to Cynthia's tent and chit chat. Feels like the night before we got married, chit chat and spend time with each other.
10:00p.m. : Daddys are back and ready to sleep because their beers finished hahah. So we get ready to overnight in our tent.

Overall staying experience was good except the wind is really too strong! Our tent front cover keep flipping, the flipping sound is very noisy. Hubby have to go out in the middle of the night to fixed the tent cover. Everyone woke up around 2:00a.m. because of the strong wind.
As for Kyle, he was having flu and cough so he cried once a while because of blocking nose and his cough interrupted his sleeps, poor guy. I have the thoughts of bring Kyle to sleep in the car, in his car seats in sitting position so his mucus won't flow to his throat but that was a silly idea.
Thank God for the awesome experience and good friend companion!
And making memories together <3 MY FAVOURITE PHOTO below!
That's how Kyle smiles now when we say Take picture, smile! :D
