Today is my second day of maternity leaves. Went to breakfast with sister and hubby. Visited mom. Back home watch drama, do house chores, long 2 hours nap and cravings for waffle after wake up. Everything is normal. No contraction happened until 5pm. Hubby back home from work around 5pm. 6:14pm blood show! Not a dot of brown but it's a lot of blood like first day of period. (Sorry if this make you feel gross, just trying to describe as much as I can). Hubby got panic haha I ask him to chill don't panic! I asked in group if I should go hospital since no consistent contraction. Everyone's answer is GO because to be safe than sorry.
So I take my time to shower and wash hair. Check my hospital bag again. Look for married certificate then went for dinner at Pick & Pay at 7pm for dinner. Hubby says he craving for sushi haha, always is his craving. Can see that he's really nervous. We reached Hospital Likas at 8pm. Register then go to Bilik Penyelidikan to check. Nurse ask general questions then this Indian Doctor come and check dilation. So painful when he put his finer in to check dilation! My dilation was 3cm. That's really not bad!
9:40pm: Waiting to get admitted. Contraction become so consistent!
Selfie with hubby while waiting for the procedure! He will be sleeping in the car tonight. Poor thing. He don't want to leave because he worry how if I have to labour.
Admitted in Room 5, Bed no.1. Sharing with another 5 mommies. Above picture is my contraction counter. That wave of contraction becomes stronger and stronger. I couldn't sleep. Keep doing the breathing practice and walk around at the corridor to make myself feel better. 1:40am: my blood overflow so I have to change pad and I walk to the counter and ask nurse if it's normal. She said yes is normal. If water break just call us doctor will check again. I think I'm more than 3cm now but I want wait longer before I ask doctor to check again so that I will be fully dilate.
5:00am: Stronger contraction since 2 hours ago. Nurse came and check baby's heartbeat. See me in pain so she say will check my dilation. 4cm now! She said 5cm then can go into labour room already!
8:00am: Doctor broke my "water bag", it means my amniotic sac has ruptured and he check dilation again is almost 5cm. That feeling is like a huge gush of fluid went all over to the bed, my clothes is wet, the bed is wet, weirdest feeling ever! They push to labour room after that. That cramp become more consistent and very painful.
8:30am: Get ready in labour room. Hubby get to come in. Doctor asked if i need any pain killer, I want to use Epidural but I have scoliosis so Doctor said their might be higher risk and might not effective so they gave me laughing gas but it's not effective so they asked if we want to use 2nd pain killer, Nubain. They brief us the risk of taking pain killer will make both mommy and baby sleepy. Baby might not cry when he's out because he might be feeling drowsy because of the pain killer. Anyhow, I took it because I was already in pain and whatever they say I can't absorb anymore. 10:00am: Doctor came and check dilation again, it's still 5cm, that back pain is killing me! 12:00pm: Suddenly an Indian lady doctor came in, she's the doctor in charge of that day. She found out that baby's heartbeat is dropping, her reaction was kinda big. I heard she say "Why there's no one notice this?!", then all the other doctors ran in and all check on the heartbeat rate machine. She then said will give him 20 minutes if baby is still sleeping then we have to go for Emergency Cesarean.
After this everything goes chaos. One young lady doctor came in and brief us all kinds of risk of C-sec, asked me and hubby sign on the agreement form then few nurses came in and put things on my body, push me to the operation room.
Before go in, they again brief me the same thing, asked me sign again on another form.
12:40pm: in the operation room. Everything happen so quick baby is out within 10 minutes! I cried when I hear his first cry. The first question I asked was "is he a lot of hair?" haha.
Hubby took this photo and he cried. He couldn't hold his tears and excitement. He must be worry when I was alone in the operation room.
